From a Small Idea to Building Vora Global Enterprises
The story of Vora Global Enterprises began during one of the most challenging times for my family and me—the lockdown of 2021. My name is Harshala, and I started this business to support my family during a financial crisis. We faced numerous difficulties, including the loss of my beloved grandmother, who was my greatest motivator and support system.
Even during her toughest days, she encouraged me to pursue my dreams. She would tirelessly help me fulfill wholesale orders, making scrunchies day and night. Inspired by her hard work and my mother’s love for stitching on the sewing machine, I decided to start something meaningful—our handmade scrunchie business.
From Reselling to Manufacturing
Initially, I began as a reseller, buying scrunchies and selling them on Instagram and Facebook. However, seeing my mother’s stitching skills, I decided to manufacture our own scrunchies. Together, we explored various fabrics and created a wide range of unique designs. Soon, we started receiving more orders and even participated in exhibitions, which brought us closer to our customers and their needs.
With the overwhelming support and love from our customers, we opened a shop after the lockdown. However, balancing time and commitments led me to close the shop and focus on building an online presence. This is how our journey toward launching our website began.
Expanding Our Product Range
Our customers inspired us to expand our offerings. Many requested combos for gifting, which led us to include Korean jewelry and accessories in our collection. We also began selling traditional jewelry and, more recently, handmade home décor items like Khan décor, made by talented artisans. Supporting handmade and eco-friendly products has become a core value of Vora.
I strongly believe in promoting sustainable products that are kind to the environment and supporting hardworking small sellers, especially women and girls. Their dedication reminds me of my own journey, and I’m proud to feature their beautiful handmade items in my store.
Looking Ahead: Going Global
As my business continues to grow, I’ve received inquiries from international customers who love our products. This has motivated me to start selling globally, and I am excited to take Vora to the next level.
